L-Carnitine, also known as levocarnitine, is a naturally occurring compound that plays a crucial role in the body’s energy production. It’s a derivative of amino acids (specifically, lysine and methionine) and is produced in the liver and kidneys.
L-Carnitine’s primary function is to transport fatty acids from the cytoplasm into the mitochondria of cells.
