What is dextrose monohydrate? Why its important in daily life?

Dextrose, organic compound, molecular formula C6H12O6. Divided into monohydrate glucose (C6H12O6.H2O) and anhydrous glucose (C6H12O6).Its also called dextrose monohydrate  or dextrose anhydrous. It is the most widely distributed and most important monosaccharide in nature. It is a polyhydroxy aldehyde. Pure glucose is colourless crystal, sweet but not as sweet as sucrose, soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, and insoluble in ether.

Application:

Glucose plays an important role in the biological field. It is the energy source and metabolic intermediate of living cells, the main energy-generating substance of the organism. In the food industry, dextrose can be processed by isomerase to produce fructose, especially fruit fructose-containing 42% fructose. Syrup, its sweetness and sucrose, has become an important product in the current sugar industry. The biggest advantage of glucose is that it is an indispensable nutrient for metabolism in the living body and one of the six major nutrients in the human body. The heat released by its oxidation reaction is an important source of energy for human life activities. Dextrose is mainly used as a nutrient for injection (glucose injection) in medicine.

Manufacturing process:

The food grade glucose is obtained by partially purifying and concentrating the aqueous sugar solution obtained by partially hydrolyzing the edible corn starch with the food grade acid. Due to the fact that it is made from corn starch so it is also referred to as “corn syrup”;

The industrial glucose manufacturing process is relatively simple, and the production of glucose by microbial enzymatic methods. It has obvious advantages over the acid hydrolysis method. In the production, the raw materials do not need to be refined, and there is no need for acid and pressure resistant equipment, and the sugar liquid has no bitter taste and high sugar yield.

Market insight:

The main producing area is China, which exports to 40 million tons per year around the world, accounting for 60% of the world’s total capacity.

Global glucose use is also increasing year by year, steadily increasing at an annual rate of 8%. The main factor affecting the price of glucose is corn, which is the only raw material for its products. So when you find the Dextrose price change a lot during a period, there is no doubt that the corn price must been change a lot as well.

The global Dextrose Monohydrate market  value is raising about 3%  in 2018 and it has been expected to reach 5% by the end of 2025.

Certificate:

As we all know, different countries require different certificates. For the basic certificates, we can provide you:  ISO22000, KOSHER, HALAL, NO-GMO, NON-ALLERGEN STATEMENT , which are available from general suppliers.
